Create more hands-on, real-world learning experiences that connect students with local businesses, organizations, and mentorship programs.

Provide courses that prepare students for life after high school, whether they go to a four-year college, two-year college, vocational school, or directly into the workforce. Ensure all students are treated equally regardless of their post-high school path.

Ensure Cabrillo College offers robust support and courses tailored for our students, especially as a designated Hispanic Serving Institution.

Collaborate with the community to rethink the use of school facilities, providing space and support for community activities, especially for after-school programs.

Secure more funding and provide industry-level training in the arts. Reintegrate practical skills like woodworking, electrical work, and mechanics, which greatly benefited previous generations.

Adopt a 4-day school week to reduce teacher stress and boost student engagement. Use Fridays for teacher planning and offer extracurricular activities and childcare through community partnerships.

Develop innovative incentives and engaging programs to encourage consistent school attendance and active participation.

Work closely with community organizations and youth advocates to create a safe, collaborative, and supportive school environment. Rethink school safety and prioritize mental health support services for students.

Work with unions to ensure locals are prioritized for major contracts, leading to job creation for parents who can then support their children attending PVUSD.
