As our community faces the ongoing impacts of the Moss Landing Power Plant fires, Pajaro Valley Unified School District (PVUSD) remains committed to supporting families in Area III.

Schools, including Hall Elementary, Ohlone Elementary, and Pajaro Middle School, will remain open on Friday, January 17, 2025, to provide a safe and secure space for students whose parents need to report to work. For families who are able to keep their children at home, I highly encourage you to do so.

Please know that there will be no repercussions for choosing to keep your child at home during this time. Both options — sending your child to school or keeping them at home — are fully supported, as we understand the unique circumstances each family is facing. To ensure student safety, all activities at school will take place indoors in ventilated spaces.

The well-being of our students remains my top priority, and the Superintendent is taking every precaution to ensure their health and comfort, and will continue to keep me updated. Please stay safe, close your windows, and, if able, wear a mask when going outdoors. If you need support, please feel free to contact me.

LAS ESCUELAS DEL ÁREA III DE PVUSD PERMANECERÁN ABIERTAS DURANTE LOS INCENDIOS EN LA PLANTA DE ENERGÍA DE MOSS LANDING 

Mientras nuestra comunidad enfrenta los impactos continuos de los incendios en la Planta de Energía de Moss Landing, el Distrito Escolar Unificado del Valle de Pajaro (PVUSD) sigue comprometido a apoyar a las familias en el Área III.

Las escuelas, incluyendo Hall Elementary, Ohlone Middle School y Pajaro Middle School, permanecerán abiertas el viernes 17 de enero de 2025 para brindar un espacio seguro para los estudiantes cuyos padres necesitan ir a trabajar. Para las familias que puedan mantener a sus hijos en casa, les animo encarecidamente a que lo hagan. Tengan la seguridad de que no habrá consecuencias por elegir mantener a sus hijos en casa durante este tiempo.

Ambas opciones —enviar a sus hijos a la escuela o mantenerlos en casa— están completamente respaldadas, ya que entendemos las circunstancias únicas que enfrenta cada familia. Para garantizar la seguridad de los estudiantes, todas las actividades escolares se llevarán a cabo en interiores con espacios ventilados. El bienestar de nuestros estudiantes sigue siendo mi máxima prioridad, y la Superintendente está tomando todas las precauciones necesarias para garantizar su salud y comodidad, y continuará informándome sobre la situación.
